    Graduate Assistant - Office of Veterans Services

    Office of Veterans Services Graduate Assistant

    • provide assistance to students and parents with inquiries about Veterans education benefits, programs, and services
    • maintain collaborative relationships with military, veteran, and community organizations
    • assemble data, take notes, compile reports, and track results for surveys and assessments
    • provide oversight of undergraduate student workers
    • maintain and organize Veterans Services resources and benefits-related files
    • assist with managing programs, recruitment, and information sessions
    • assist with event preparation and execution
    • assist students with use of facilities, accessing resources, applying for and certifying benefits
    • provide mentorship to student veteran organization
    • reinforce standards of conduct and provide for students’ safety and welfare
    • maintain cleanliness and maintenance of the office and Veterans Center
    • safeguard office information, resources, and equipment
    • provide other duties as assigned

    The ideal candidate for this position is organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and extremely professional. Possesses strong communication and customer service skills, proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and basic graphic design skills.  A self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative.  Preference given to military members and veterans, and students who have experience with the military and veteran community. This is not a telework position.  Some morning and weekend hours required.

    This position is for 20 hours/week of work (300 hours per fall and spring semester), and it provides a tuition waiver for 9 graduate credits plus a stipend of $3,750 per fall and spring semester.  Please contact Tania Brown-Berringer for additional information if needed at brown@kutztown.edu.
