This assistantship is for a DSW student. The student will have an MSW degree, with at least two years of professional social work experience. The person will be willing to work on a number of research projects, preferably in projects that he/she will be willing to develop scholarship and research for his/her dissertation, be willing to present at various conferences solo or with other faculty mentors, be able to help prepare and deliver course material under the mentorship of a faculty member. Assist faculty members with new or existing research projects including but not limited to the multiyear domestic violence research, the child abuse and neglect in PA longitudinal study, the workforce public child welfare evaluation project, the family livability index in the counties of Pennsylvania, the mental health in rural PA study, etc. The person must possess excellent time and project management skills and willing to learn under mentorship teaching skills and learning platforms.
This position is for 13.3 hours/week of work (200 hours for the fall and spring semester), and it provides a tuition waiver for 6 graduate credits plus a stipend of $2500 per semester. Please contact Dr. John Vafeas for additional information if needed at vafeas@kutztown.edu
