    Graduate Assistant - Community Outreach Center (COC)

    The coordinator provides overall coordination for Kutztown University’s Volunteer Program. This position is a two-semester, 20 hour per week graduate assistantship with a stipend of $7500 ($3750 per semester) per year and tuition remission for 9 credits per semester the coordinator reports to the assistant director of student involvement. The coordinator is the primary contact person for the program.

    Works in coordination with the America Reads GA on office operations, staff meetings, Volunteer Appreciation Week, and representation of the COC at University events like Open House, Accepted Student Days, and New Student Orientation.
    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    1. Coordinate a clearinghouse of local agencies and service opportunities and make the information available to all segments of the campus community.
    2. Produce service programs and marketing campaigns that raise levels of awareness among students, faculty and staff.
    3. Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate the work-study student staff. This includes program coordinators, office staff, and support staff. Supervision includes pre-planning, one-on-one meetings, and program support of events.
    4. Plan and produce training sessions at the beginning of each semester and hold monthly (or bimonthly) meeting of the COC.
    5. Assisting student organizations, individual students, and possibly community service sanctioned students match up with existing or new possibilities.
    6. When possible, integrate service-learning into current and new projects and partnerships.
    7. Provide guidance and support for the use of GivePulse, including one on one support and group trainings.

    Working with the Assistant Director and the other Graduate Assistants:

    8. Produce service programs and marketing campaigns that raise levels of awareness among students, faculty and staff.
    9. Coordinate service days and service fairs on campus and attend service events.
    10. Assist in advising the Student Volunteer Coalition.
    11. Coordinate fundraising to support programs.
    12. Maintain the morale of the COC staff, the professionalism of the office, and promote the positive image of the Community Outreach Center.
    13. Perform other duties and assist in other experiential activities as assigned.
