Reporting to the Director of Disability Services, this position is a two-semester, 20 hour peer week graduate assistantship. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training and coordinating note takers for students approved for the note taking accommodation. These responsibilities are carried out mostly online using email, MyKU data, and D2L. The GA also logs payroll hours of note takers for e-time. Such coordination requires effective and timely communication between students, faculty and staff. Additional responsibilities of the graduate assistant include assisting the Testing Center by proctoring exams, reading for tests or providing additional accommodations as needed to aide in the learning and testing process. The GA position provides an opportunity to understand the workings of a higher education office and provide access under the ADA for a specific population of students.
This position is for 20 hours/week of work (300 hours for the fall and spring semester), and it provides a tuition waiver for 9 graduate credits plus a stipend of $3,750 per semester. Please contact McKenzie Hollenbach for additional information if needed at mhollenb@kutztown.edu.
