We are seeking a graduate assistant who will help design and implement a comprehensive training program for our various existing and future makerspace technologies. Training outlines will incorporate the making-related habits of mind framework, and incorporate other theoretical structures in order to create a program that will scaffold learners from absolute beginners through developing advanced skills and knowledge. The position will have a particular focus on promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in making. We are all makers.
The graduate assistant will help to formalize and apply best practices for experiential learning, prototyping, and transforming theoretical and thought-focused ideas into physical manifestations of learned concepts. This assistantship will provide an opportunity to practice the art of developing and implementing up to date training programs on current and emerging technologies.
The graduate assistant will work with the STEAMworks maker community on many levels, including students, community members, staff, faculty and administration. Research into emerging technologies for inclusion into the makerspace will be supported.
