    Graduate Assistant - Campus Health Initiatives Assistant

    The KU Health Center is looking for highly organized candidates with an excellent academic track record for the position of Campus Health Initiatives graduate assistant. Graduate assistant is responsible for helping the Health Center leadership team meet the medical and wellness needs of our students. This assistantship will provide student with hands-on experiences in health & wellness programming initiatives, events, and presentations. The position will complement students seeking to work in a health-related field, such as those enrolled in Master of Public Administration, Social Work, Counseling & Student Affairs.

    Graduate Assistant Responsibilities:

    • Conduct meetings and focus groups to determine services students desire and how to deliver services more effectively and make programming recommendations relevant to the KU student population.
    • Assist with developing, organizing, and assessing campus Health Center campus events, programs, presentations, and initiatives.
    • Assist Health and Wellness Services leadership team with various administrative tasks.
    • Assist with grant writing, application, implementation, and compliance as need arises.
    • Research health-related subjects and organize meetings as needed for scheduled projects.
    • Design research methodologies to address service need, delivery, and improvement.
    • Collect and analyze data from electronic health record, assessment evaluations, outreach efforts, satisfaction surveys, and focus groups.
    • Identify a project to be submitted for Institutional Review Board approval based on information and data collected.

    Graduate Assistant Requirements:

    • Enrolled in a graduate degree program.
    • Good academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Experience with student councils and leadership positions.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students, and think creatively and critically
    • Good written and verbal communication.
    • Must be computer and social media savvy, and proficient with Microsoft programs.
    • Previous work in an office environment, data collection and analysis, assessment, and research experience preferred.
