Graduate Assistantship - Human Resources
The graduate assistant in the Department of Human Resources shares the primary responsibility of managing the Kutztown University fingerprinting center in support of the Protection of Minors policy and the University’s student teaching program. The successful candidate will be expected to pass all training and background checks in order to be certified as a fingerprinting technician. In addition to the hands on aspect of the job, the assistant will be responsible for creating and/or maintaining the support of policies and instructions related to the operation of the fingerprinting site. The graduate assistant will be asked to provide statistical data on volume and usage as well as recommend any other metrics that can be used by the Department to assess the efficiency of this function and to support any recommended changes. Other duties include, but are not limited to, serving as a front line contact for the office as needed; document imaging support (includes creating and maintaining internal policies and instruction in compliance with the University’s record retention policy); and, special projects as assigned. This graduate assistant will be working with all sectors of the Kutztown University community, must be personable with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and must be comfortable with using and learning a variety of technologies. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
