    Graduate Assistant - College of Education

    This position will focus on student outreach and record keeping related to Secondary Education undergraduate students’ work on Pre-Candidacy Field Experience (PCFE). PCFE refers to the first stage of field experience required for all undergraduate Sec Ed students. During PCFE, students are observers and/or participants in a variety of education-related settings. Our GA will reach out to students regularly via email with upcoming events and reminders to complete their hours. They will maintain an up to date list of student progress on PCFE. In addition, the GA will work with the department chair and assigned faculty on teaching, service, and research related projects. It is expected that the PCFE GA role will comprise 25% of GA hours and the 75% will relate to ongoing faculty assignments. 

    Prior experience: experience working with university faculty, planning programs/events, volunteer or work experience related to public education, communication with groups over email or social media posts

    Relevant hard skills: strong writing and editing skills, email writing, video editing, transcription, social media, graphic design, and data entry.

    Relevant soft skills: problem solving, research, resourcefulness, accepting feedback, diversity awareness, attentiveness to detail, and meeting deadlines.

    This position is for 20 hours/week of work (300 hours per fall and spring semester), and it provides a tuition waiver for 9 graduate credits plus a stipend of $3,750 per fall and spring semester.  Please contact Mark Wolfmeyer for additional information if needed at wolfmeyer@kutztown.edu.
