    Graduate Assistant - Multicultural Center (Promotion, Collaboration, and Cultural Exchange)


    Graduate assistants in the Multicultural Center assist in all areas of Center programming, Center hours coverage, and general support of the events and activities of the Multicultural Center.  All assistants develop, with the Center Director, office hours, short-term and long-term goals, and specific tasks related to their specific position description and general support of the mission and purposes of the Center. The main job responsibilities for this graduate assistant are to plan and implement social and cultural exchange programs (generally centered around various cultures for all students) and promote all Center events. This position requires the assistant to research and develop programs that are inclusive of all groups and promote respect and civility and an understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism. Specific programs for Celebration months include Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month, American Indian Heritage Month, African American History Month, Women’s History Month, etc.; the World Food Series; and, collaboration with student organizations and other campus departments on events, programs, and educational activities that support the mission of the Center. The Center encourages applicants from all areas; however, job duties and experiences most directly relate to academic course work in Student Affairs, Counseling, Public Administration, and Education.
