    Graduate Assistant – Honors

    The Kutztown University Honors Program seeks a skilled and ambitious Graduate Assistant to join our motivated team. The University Honors Program is dedicated to creating learning opportunities for highly motivated students to flourish as empowered individuals who take agency in shaping their own education and future.  

    Our Honors Graduate Assistants support initiatives that enhance student engagement, academic excellence, and retention by organizing workshops, experiential learning activities, peer mentoring, and co-curricular involvement. This position requires hands-on experience in event planning, calendar maintenance, student outreach and communication, student support, as well as data tracking and analysis while contributing to the development of programming that nourishes our vibrant Honors community.  

    The ideal candidate will have very strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills. They should be comfortable both collaborating and assuming a leadership role within the Honors team and greater Honors community, demonstrating a welcoming attitude towards students as they assist them through the program. It is essential that the candidate has research competency, thorough knowledge of the University Honors program, and personal initiative. The graduate assistant position is unique in the balance between creativity and technical rigor, reinforcing strong professional skills that complement the career preparation of graduate study.  

    This position requires 20 hours/week of work (300 hours per fall and spring semester), and it provides a tuition waiver for 9 graduate credits plus a stipend of $3,750 per fall and spring semester. The schedule is flexible, but the candidate should generally be available when the Honors office is open (M-F from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) with the occasional need for evening and weekend events. Please contact Professor Andrew Vogel for additional information at vogel@kutztown.edu.
