    Graduate Assistant - Board of Governors – Scholarship and Web Projects

    The Graduate Assistant – Board of Governor’s Scholarship and Web Projects will be responsible for the overall administration of the scholarship program which includes outreach, verification of requirements and updating of online systems. Other duties include all NSO web revisions and online orientation program.

    Outline:

    • Monitor and update scholarship roster. Communicate with the Office of Financial Aid Services to obtain updated list each semester.
    • Work with the Office of the Dean of Students to verify the judicial standing of all scholarship recipients at the end of each semester. For those students who not in good standing, prepare communication and monitoring process. Additional duties may include developing petition process and other needed communication.
    • Develop and execute 4 events in the spring semester designed to educate scholarship recipients on a variety of topics including graduate school, job readiness, resume building and networking. The GA will work with both the Director of NSO and the Freshman BOG Advisor to incorporate events which consist of both freshman and upper classmen students. This may also include a final event which recognizes graduating seniors and rising sophomores.
    • The GA will oversee all logistics planning for special events including facilities, MSU staff, catering and all other entities associated with the program. They will prepare notifications to members, oversee social media and ensure that all represented parties are in attendance including the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs as well as the Dean of Students.
    • The GA will monitor GPA and credit requirements of all scholarship recipients and prepare an end of semester report on the combined GPA of scholarship recipients, credits earned, and other identifiable data such as gender, major, ethnicity and campus living status. This information will be prepared in a report and submitted as evidence for Middle States and other department reviews.
    • The GA will inform the Director of NSO of any situations where a student is not in compliance with scholarship guidelines. They will work to ensure that communication to students is recorded for record keeping purposes and that all offices involved (including Financial Aid Services and Dean of Students) are kept informed.
    • The GA will oversee all web updates for NSO including general information, freshman, transfer, parent/family and welcome week programming.
    • The GA will oversee all edits and revisions to the online orientation software. They will oversee revisions to the fall 2024 program and work to obtain proper training and understanding of the system.
    • When needed, the GA for Board of Governor’s Scholarship and Web Projects will assist the GA for New Student Orientation with duties needed for orientation. This will be on an “as needed basis”.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Previous managerial experience supervising undergraduate employees
    • Previous work experience in a managing an undergraduate scholarship program
    • Candidate must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student (9 credits per semester) at Kutztown University and maintain satisfactory progress in all course work.
    • Strong interpersonal, written verbal and computer skills required
    • Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Docs. Adobe Suite)
    • Previous experience with design and development of Social Media campaigns and successful coordination of all media
    • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bi-lingual (Spanish).
    • Previous undergraduate experience as a participant in an academic scholarship program.

    Work Environment:

    Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment. The incumbent will be required to operate a personal computer and associated equipment such as computer printers as well as other office equipment used in day-to-day operations. The incumbent may be required to assist with orientation set-up and tear down.
