    Graduate Assistant - Elementary, Middle Level, Library and Learning Technologies

    The Graduate Assistantship in the Elementary, Middle Level, Library and Learning Technologies Education Department is available, beginning in spring 2022 semester, to students in KU graduate programs who would like experience in scholarly research and assisting faculty with technology, assessment, data collection and curriculum development. This position 20 hours/week provides for a tuition waiver for 9 graduate credits plus a stipend of $3,750 for the semester. It will be supervised directly by the department chair. Tasks include program development in the fields of STEAM/STEM teacher education, new program development with elementary education and library science; and provide limited organizational support to the Alaska distance intervention program, where the assistant will gain expertise in organization, and planning. The graduate assistant will also aid faculty with literature searches for course development, scholarly presentations/articles/books and program reviews; construct materials for course development, class support and presentations; contact local school district personnel; aid grant writing, publications, and proposals; provide technology assistance; aid data collection and analysis for research and program reviews; assist at the KU Literature Conference, assist professors with specific research projects; assist in compiling data from surveys and questionnaires; support coordinators of programs; aid in the development of brochures and graphic displays. All of these opportunities to assist a large variety of faculty will be an enriching experiencing for a graduate assistant.
