The Graduate Assistant needs to have had previous experience with diverse populations and the ability to easily build rapport with low-income, first-generation, and disabled individuals. The person must be organized, creative, and willing to help students find internship opportunities. The person must also be able to present the skills needed in the professional world to students who may be unfamiliar with these skills. Good communication skills, written and oral, are required. Students in programs like student affairs, education, business, social work and other related fields are preferred. The GA must be available to work additional hours outside the 13.3 hours/week for the Graduate Assistantship and will be compensated for this time on an hourly basis.
This position is for 13.3 hours/week of work (200 hours per fall and spring semester), and it provides a tuition waiver for 6 graduate credits plus a stipend of $2,500 per fall and spring semester. Please contact Loriann Irving for additional information if needed at irving@kutztown.edu.
